31th Award for SME’s Excellent New Technology・New Product

The Resona Foundation for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprises is a co-sponsor with the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun once a year to contribute to the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises' technologies and products by awarding "New Technology and New Product Award for Small and Medium Enterprises" (General and Software Category).

From the dental community, root canals treatment handpiece called Kitsutsuki (woodpecker) contra was awarded the Excellence Award.

"Kitsutsuki Contra" was developed by Neustadt Japan Co., Ltd. (CEO Kazuyoshi Suzuki). In the world of mechanical engineering, drilling is known for "rotational drilling, deep & shallow drilling, and scraping drilling", and this product is characterized by its application of "woodpecker type non-twisted root canal contra". The physical stress relationship related to root canal treatment was thoroughly reviewed from the scratch, and the drilling by "twisting force" of the conventional file was changed to the drilling by "deep shallow motion of the file" like a woodpecker’s pecking.
